Tonight, my hometown Thunder take on my other favorite team, the Dallas Mavericks. I am excited about this game because my seats are in the lower level! I came prepared for this game, and I know everyone by face, from my primary objective of Dirk Nowitzki. all the way down to guys like Jeremy Evans and John Jenkins. Unfortunately, I arrived later than I would have liked, missing out on Charlie Villanueva and Javale McGee before I got settled in. It was a good spot to wait for the players; I was just late. I didn't get Zaza Pachulia, who was slowly making the rounds and probably would have signed for me, but to be fair, I didn't really have anything for him except maybe a team logo photo. Side note tip for n00bs: don't be afraid to get anybody's autograph. I got Raymond Felton first with my silver Staedtler. It turned out all right, with only slight streaking. I think I got a bad pen, because streaking is something I would expect from a silver Sharpie. Wesley Matthews was next out and he signed for everyone in someone's black Sharpie. Dirk Nowitzki eventually came off the court, but only signed for the fans in the section across from mine. Well, that was disappointing! Chandler Parsons was the last guy off the court and was very nice, signing for everyone who waited for him. All-in-all, it was not a bad outing. We play Dallas again at home this season, so I'd like to try for Dirk again then. It's hard to fumble through my stack when I have realistically, maybe three seconds to get something out and ready for a player to sign. I'm handing the players my fat stack of photos (with his on top) to sign, but I don't want to scare them off by doing that. Maybe next time, I'll try taping them down to individual cardboards with painter's tape. Felton 1/1 - signed 8x10
Matthews 1/1 - signed 8x10 McGee 0/1 - arrived just as he was signing the last few Nowitzki 0/1 Pachulia 0/1 - to be fair, I didn't really have anything for him Parsons 1/1 - signed 8x10 Villanueva 0/1 - arrived just as he was signing the last few Until next time, J.R.
